With a history that dates back to the 14th century, the Segusos are one of Murano’s most ancient families of glassmasters. A direct descendant in the sixth generation of glassmasters, Gianni Seguso passes on the secrets of the thousand-yearold art to his son Marco.
Born in 1951, Gianni showed a talent for glass at an early age. Taking on the challenge of the fiery craft day by day, he learned to shape and mold glass by observing and assisting the great masters, and became a master himself already in his twenties.
Today, Gianni Seguso makes the sophisticated and highly valued Rezzonico chandeliers, art works and design objects in collaboration with artists from around the world. In his glass studio, 30 craftsmen continue the noble art of Murano glassmaking under his guidance, perpetuating the tradition.
Works of Gianni Seguso adorn stylish private residences and official premises of important institutions and are displayed in 75 international museums.
